For once, I’m happy being right where I am. I am savoring summer. I am appreciating all the hard work I put in to get to where I am, right now. I am not beating myself up over lost opportunities, past mistakes, and relationships of yesterday. I am living in my present.
I’m not trying to burn the midnight oil to work, achieve, do, be greater, bigger, better, faster, stronger.
Just breathe. Allow.
Yoga has taught me to stay present. Teachers preach the benefits of being present to your breath, engaging with the moment. Years of practice, of listening, I am finally getting it. I’m not viewing experiences as stepping stones on a journey, but each step, a destination in itself.
Time speeds up, but each moment slows down, an illusion. I’ve uncovered a stillness, a peace within, and it is beautiful.
